2015-2016 Executive Board
OPERATIONS DIRECTORS

Hi! My name is Alex Qin, and I'm currently a senior majoring in Music and Neuroscience. My favorite part about being in AMASE is being able to interact with the parents of our students on a personal level. Hearing about how their at-home lives have been improved since participating in AMASE makes getting up early on Saturday mornings worthwhile. All the parents are such incredible role models who possess unlimited amounts of patience and compassion, and it is a true privilege to be able to work with them every week.

I'm Jenny Li and I'm a senior majoring in Integrated Science and Biology. I've been involved with AMASE for three years now! In this short time, I've learned so much about patience and dedication from the students of AMASE and their families. It's been a fulfilling experience to say the least. Music is an awesome way for us to connect with individuals outside of Northwestern, and teaching kids is the perfect break from weeks of midterms and other homework. If you have any questions, comments or ideas feel free to shoot me an email at jenniferli2016@u.northwestern.edu.
VOLUNTEER RELATIONS DIRECTOR

Hi! My name is Brandon Lin and I am a sophomore at Northwestern University majoring in Violin Performance and Biological Sciences. I am the 2015-2016 Volunteer Relations Director of AMASE. I manage the logistics of the Saturday Ensemble Program, monitor student and volunteer teaching progress and develop teaching materials for the volunteers. I began volunteering with AMASE in my freshman year and it has been a privilege to work with all these students with so much potential. I really cherish the opportunity to get to know the students on a personal level and cannot wait to take AMASE to new heights!
FINANCE DIRECTORS

My name is Hannah Dion-Kirschner, and I’m a sophomore majoring in horn performance and biology. When I was growing up, music was high on the list of my family’s values, and I am so grateful to have found AMASE, an incredible community of Evanston families who have the same love of music. This organization is a truly unique place for Northwestern students and Evanston students to share that love and to learn from each other. I am the 2016 co-finance director, and along with Serena I manage AMASE’s funds and plan fundraising events to grow our organization. If you have any questions about or ideas for AMASE’s fundraising efforts, I’d love to hear from you (athannahdionkirschner2018@u.northwestern.edu)!

Hi! My name is Serena Fu and I am a junior studying Industrial Engineering and Computer Science. I am one of the two Co-Finance Directors for AMASE this year. I heard about AMASE in my freshman year, went to an shadow session and quit because I felt it was too challenging to me at that time, but I am so glad that I decided to come back in my sophomore year. This time, I put much effort in learning about my students and developing effective teaching methods for them, and have been staying with AMASE for almost a year. My experiences with students, parents and the club have been very rewarding, and AMASE taught me so much about patience, care for others and overcoming challenges. I am looking forward to continuing my work with AMASE for the rest of my college years.
SATURDAY ENSEMBLE COORDINATORS

Hi! My name is Vicky and I am a senior Psychology major from New Jersey. I got involved with AMASE during the spring quarter of my freshman year. I first joined because I had played violin my whole life and I wanted to remain involved with music in a way where I was also helping out in the community. However AMASE has since become much more than a volunteering experience - it has taught me that learning and connecting through the arts is not just about notes and techniques, it is also about dedication, commitment, patience, and of course, fun! As the current Saturday Ensemble Coordinator, I get to come up with activities and crafts for our students in order to keep them engaged with their volunteers and make the process of learning music fun! AMASE has been an incredibly meaningful experience and I encourage anybody with an interest in music to get involved in some way.

My name is Keishel Lee and I am currently a sophomore majoring in Music Theory and Cognition. I am the 2015-2016 co-Saturday Ensemble Director with Vicky, in which I coordinate and plan arts and crafts and musical activities for our students during our weekly Saturday sessions. I came into AMASE during Fall quarter of freshman year, not knowing what was in store for me, but absolutely came to love what our student organization does for our community. I enjoy seeing our students progress each week, both musically and personally, and hope that AMASE has left a positive impact on our volunteers, students and parents.
MEDIA DIRECTOR

My name is Connie Wang and I'm currently a senior majoring in Piano Performance and Cognitive Science. I first became involved with AMASE the spring quarter of my freshman year, and it has become a very special part of my Northwestern experience thus far. The community of volunteers, students, and parents that I have discovered within AMASE has not only taught me so much about the power of patience and dedication, but has also allowed me to reexamine the role and potential of music in my own life.
